How I Fill My Cup: Daily Habits That Make Me Happy

Lately I have been trying to focus more on the little things that actually make me feel like myself and make me happy. Nothing crazy or life-changing, just small habits that can help me feel good and have a good day!

Journaling My Thoughts

One thing I’ve been doing a lot more of this year is journaling. I’ve never really been into journaling but I try and write a lot at night and honestly just dump all of my thoughts into a journal. Some nights I write a lot, some nights it’s random stuff, but it helps me clear my head before going to sleep. I’ve been trying to make it a daily habit and it’s really nice.

Trying New Coffee Spots

Trying new coffee places also makes me happier than it probably should be. I love finding new spots to get a matcha or a coffee and just sitting there for a bit whether it’s by myself or with my girl friends. It feels like a little treat and it gives me something to look forward to every morning.

Long Walks With Friends

Long walks with my friends has definitely become one of my favorite resets. We will walk for miles just talking about life and it’s so relaxing. There is something about walking and talking that just makes everything feel less overwhelming.

Candles & Quiet Evenings

At night, I love lighting candles and turning the lights off. It makes my room feel calm and cozy. Even if I’m just laying in bed and journaling, it makes me feel so relaxed.

Yoga/Pilates Classes

Recently, I’ve just got into yoga and pilates classes and it has been another way of filling my cup. It feels so nice to move my body in a way that isn’t stressful and just focus on myself for a little bit.

Reading More, Scrolling Less

Another one of my New Years resolutions was to get off my phone more. I’m definitely still working on it, but I feel so much better when I’m not constantly scrolling. Going outside helps a lot, especially when I’m home. I love beach sunsets, sunrises, riding my bike on the boardwalk, and even cold plunges in the ocean during the winter (not fun but also kind of fun?).

A Clean Space

Having a clean space is also huge for me. When my room is clean I feel way less stressed and more put together. It’s such a simple habit, but it makes a huge difference in how I feel day to day.

None of these things are that deep, but they’re the little habits that help me feel happier, calmer, and more balanced. That’s how I fill my cup lately!
